Artist's Comments

From my 13-14 year old "bird book obsessed" days. I have this Birds of Ontario book I basically memorized and tried to sketch some birds from the book.

drawing on paper with graphite soft pencils.

*ignore the name in the drawing, the title is the right name of the bird*

It's really lovely, I wish I could draw like that...

:) That's beautiful - it really captures their nature ...sparrows are my favorite of all birds - they have such distinct characters - are so full of antics :aww: and so cute. I've never seen a white crested one as far as I know. Is it a local specialty?

as much as i hate house sparrows, i do agree, they are quite unique :) and there are so many varieties! shoot, just realized it is the White-crowned sparrow! must change name. from what I know, they occupy northern Ontario, around Hudson Bay.

I used to hate sparrows to - thought they were very plain and all the same. But where I live now, my back window is on the same level as the garden and I get to see them up really close - and they are not at all like how they appear from a distance. :) Or perhaps we just have some cute ones here!
:iconpink-pony:
lol perhaps. where do you live exactly? I have a field outside my house, so I get other sparrows other than House sparrows thank goodness. they sound nicer and look nicer too :D

how do you mean? what part of germany - or what kind of place? for the first - I live in the south west very near the french and luxembourg borders - for the second, in a village that sits on the edge of a rather large and mountainous forest - quite up high. hmm, that gets me thinking...maybe the sparrows here are a different variety altogether - I'll have to look that up.
